The 3-Day Mount Meru Summit Trek is an exciting and scenic mountain adventure in Tanzania’s Arusha National Park. The trek takes you through lush montane forests, open moorlands, and dramatic volcanic landscapes before reaching Socialist Peak at 4,566 metres. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of Mount Meru’s crater, surrounding plains, and, on clear days, Mount Kilimanjaro. This challenging trek is ideal for adventurous travelers looking for a shorter high-altitude hiking experience.

After breakfast, drive from Arusha to Momella Gate for registration and park formalities. Continue to Miriakamba Hut (2,514 m) for dinner and overnight.

Start early and trek to Saddle Hut (3,570 m) through the scenic forest and steep ridges. After a short rest, continue toward the summit of Socialist Peak (4,566 m). Enjoy spectacular views of Mount Meru’s crater and, weather permitting, Mount Kilimanjaro. Descend back to Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, descend through the forest toward Momella Gate. Complete the park formalities before meeting your driver for the transfer back to Arusha, marking the end of your Mount Meru adventure.
