1. The Sustainable Tourism 2030 Pledge

GoAfricaBookings has signed the Sustainable Tourism 2030 Pledge, a program run by GreenStep and recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). Signing it commits us to measuring and improving our sustainability performance every year between now and 2030, using GreenStep's free self-assessment.

2. Direct-to-local by design

We connect travelers directly with independent, community-based tour operators across Africa, so the money you spend stays with the people and places actually hosting your trip, instead of passing through international resellers.

3. Vetting that's growing to include sustainability

Every operator on our platform already goes through a manual compliance audit before their tours are published, covering licensing and insurance - see our Trust & Safety page for the full standard. As part of this pledge, we're working to extend that audit to cover responsible-tourism practices too.

4. A lean, digital-first model

GoAfricaBookings runs entirely online, with no branch offices, printed brochures, or courier paperwork - a lower-overhead way of connecting travelers with operators by design.

5. Tracking our progress

Each year between now and 2030, we'll measure our performance with GreenStep's free Sustainable Tourism self-assessment and use it to guide where we improve next.
