Lemosho begins on the quiet western side of Kilimanjaro, where few trekkers walk. The first day takes you through untouched rainforest where colobus monkeys are common, then you cross the Shira Plateau at a gentle pace before joining the Lava Tower and Barranco sections shared with Machame. Because it is one day longer, Lemosho gives your body more time at height and is widely considered one of the better routes for summit success. Crowds are thinner, views of Kibo and Mount Meru are wide, and the pace is steady. Our licensed guides, cook and porters handle the camp; you walk, breathe and enjoy the mountain.
