Experience two of East Africa's outstanding primate encounters on this private 3-day Golden Monkey and Gorilla Trekking Safari from Kigali. Your adventure begins in Kigali, Rwanda, where your professional driver-guide will meet you at your hotel or Kigali International Airport. Travel through Rwanda's beautiful countryside before crossing into southwestern Uganda and continuing to the Bwindi region. The highlight of the safari is a guided mountain gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After a briefing from the park rangers, enter the rainforest with experienced trackers in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Once the gorillas are located, enjoy the permitted viewing period while observing their behavior and taking photographs under the guidance of the ranger team. After your Uganda gorilla experience, cross back into Rwanda and continue to the Volcanoes National Park area. On the final day, join a guided golden monkey tracking experience in Volcanoes National Park. Explore the bamboo forest in search of these active and distinctive primates before returning to Kigali. Meet your driver-guide at Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali and begin your private safari to southwestern Uganda. Enjoy beautiful views of Rwanda's rolling countryside before proceeding to the Rwanda–Uganda border. After completing immigration formalities, continue through the scenic highlands of southwestern Uganda toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive at your lodge, check in and relax while your guide briefs you about the following day's mountain gorilla trekking experience. Dinner and overnight near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing on mountain gorilla trekking rules and forest safety. Join experienced Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers and trackers and enter Bwindi's rainforest in search of your assigned habituated mountain gorilla family. Trekking time varies depending on the gorillas' location and forest conditions. Once the gorillas are located, enjoy the permitted viewing period observing and photographing them while following your ranger's instructions. After the trek, meet your driver-guide and begin the scenic journey back across the border into Rwanda. Continue to the Volcanoes National Park area for dinner, relaxation and overnight accommodation in preparation for the next day's golden monkey tracking.

Accompanied by an experienced ranger guide, enter the bamboo forest in search of golden monkeys. Once located, observe and photograph these active primates while following the park's viewing regulations. After completing the experience, meet your driver-guide and begin the drive back to Kigali. Depending on your onward arrangements, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Kigali or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your 3-day Uganda and Rwanda primate safari.

The tour starts and ends in Kigali, Rwanda. Travelers can fly into Kigali International Airport (KGL), where airport pickup can be arranged as part of the safari. We can also pick you up from your hotel in Kigali. The journey continues by private safari vehicle from Kigali to southwestern Uganda and later returns to Rwanda for golden monkey tracking before the final transfer to Kigali.
