The Lemosho Route is one of Kilimanjaro's most scenic and successful paths to the summit, approaching from the quieter western side of the mountain before joining the Machame Route near Barranco Camp. Over 8 days of trekking (10 days including hotel nights in Moshi), you'll move through rainforest, heather moorland, and alpine desert, with two dedicated acclimatization days built in to maximize your summit chances. Eco Africa Climbing is a KPAP (Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project) and IMEC (International Mountain Explorers Connection) certified partner, meaning the porters on your climb are fairly paid, properly equipped, and treated well - and the company is a member of Carbon Tanzania, offering a carbon offset certificate for your climb. Guides are Wilderness First Responder certified, and the operator reports a 98% summit success rate. Pricing: $3,180 per person for a group climb (double occupancy), or $3,780 per person for a private climb. Single supplement is $280. Children aged 5-15 pay $2,500 (group) or $3,100 (private). Optional extras include a sleeping bag rental ($50), an extra porter ($30/day), trekking pole rental ($20), and extra hotel nights in Moshi ($70-90). Recommended tipping: guide $15-20/day, assistant guide $10-15/day, cook $10-15/day, porters $6-10/day each.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Meet your guide for a full gear check and trek briefing ahead of tomorrow's start.
Drive to Lemosho Gate (2,100m) on Kilimanjaro's remote western side and begin trekking through dense montane rainforest to Mti Mkubwa ("Big Tree") Camp at 2,780m. A gentle 3-4 hour walk of about 7km that eases you into the climb.
Climb out of the rainforest into heather and moorland, reaching Shira One Camp at 3,610m on the edge of the Shira Plateau. 5-6 hours, roughly 7km.
An acclimatization day crossing the Shira Plateau to Shira Two Camp (3,850m), with sweeping views back toward the peak. 4-5 hours over about 10km.
Climb to the Lava Tower (4,600m) for lunch, then descend to Barranco Camp (3,900m) - a classic "climb high, sleep low" day that aids acclimatization. 7-8 hours, about 10km.
Scale the Barranco Wall - a scramble rather than a technical climb - then continue to Karanga Camp at 3,995m. 4-5 hours, about 6km.
A shorter day to Barafu Camp (4,763m), your final camp before the summit push. Rest, an early dinner, and an early night ahead of a midnight departure. 3-4 hours, about 4km.
Depart around midnight for the summit push to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), Africa's highest point, timed to arrive around sunrise. Descend all the way to Mweka Camp (3,100m) the same day - the longest day of the trek at 13-15 hours and about 19.5km covered.
Descend through rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,640m), where you'll receive your summit certificate, then transfer back to your hotel in Moshi for a hot shower and a well-earned rest. 3-4 hours, about 10km.
Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
Starts in Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), ends in Moshi.
