Journey through East Africa's most iconic landscapes on this 14-day safari spanning Kenya and Tanzania, finishing with beach relaxation in Zanzibar. Beginning in Nairobi, travel to Amboseli National Park for game viewing beneath the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, followed by a full day exploring its plains, home to large elephant herds and abundant birdlife. From Amboseli, continue to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride and nature walk among giraffes, zebras, and waterbirds along the lakeshore. The route then leads to Lake Nakuru National Park for an afternoon game drive, known for its rhino sanctuary and flamingo-lined shores. The safari continues to the Maasai Mara, Kenya's most celebrated reserve, with an afternoon game drive followed by two full days tracking the region's lion prides, big cats, and (seasonally) the Great Migration herds. Crossing into Tanzania, explore the Serengeti National Park with an afternoon and full day of game drives across its endless plains, before heading onward with a game drive en route to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. A full day is spent descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa's richest wildlife concentrations, home to the Big Five in a self-contained ecosystem. The safari portion concludes with a flight from Arusha to Zanzibar, where two days are set aside for relaxing on the island's beaches, with free time to unwind, swim, or explore at leisure. The tour ends with a return flight to Nairobi.

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive south to Amboseli National Park, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive across the park's open plains, famous for its large elephant herds, resident lion prides, and sweeping views of Mount Kilimanjaro rising in the distance. Keep an eye out for giraffes, zebras, and a wide variety of birdlife around the swamps as the sun begins to set. Overnight and dinner at your lodge or camp in Amboseli.

Spend a full day exploring Amboseli National Park on game drives, with morning and afternoon sessions broken up by lunch back at your lodge or camp. Amboseli is renowned for its large, easily-viewed elephant herds and offers some of the best chances in Africa to photograph elephants with Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop, especially on clear mornings. Also watch for lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and the park's varied birdlife around its swamps and marshes. Overnight in Amboseli.

Depart Amboseli after breakfast and drive to Lake Naivasha in Kenya's Rift Valley. In the afternoon, take a boat ride on the lake to view hippos, pelicans, fish eagles, and other waterbirds up close from the water. Follow this with a guided nature walk along the shoreline, where giraffes, zebras, waterbuck, and gazelles roam freely in an unfenced setting. Overnight in Lake Naivasha.

Drive from Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park. In the afternoon, head out on a game drive around the alkaline lake, known for its dense concentrations of flamingos and pelicans lining the shore. The park is also a rhino sanctuary, home to both black and white rhino, along with lions, leopards, buffalo, and Rothschild's giraffe. Overnight in Lake Nakuru.

Depart Lake Nakuru and drive to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya's most famous wildlife destination. In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive across the reserve's open savannah, home to large prides of lion, as well as leopard, cheetah, elephant, and buffalo. Depending on the season, this may also be your first glimpse of the wildebeest and zebra herds of the Great Migration. Overnight in the Maasai Mara.

Spend a full day on game drives across the Maasai Mara, with morning and afternoon sessions and a break for lunch. Explore different areas of the reserve in search of the "big cats" the Mara is famous for, along with elephant, buffalo, hippo, and giraffe. If travelling between July and October, this is prime time to witness the Great Migration and its dramatic Mara River crossings. Overnight in the Maasai Mara.

Continue with a full day of game drives in the Maasai Mara, exploring different areas and conservancies for a fresh perspective on the reserve. Search for lion, leopard, and cheetah, alongside large herds of elephant, buffalo, and giraffe, with a lunch break back at your lodge or camp. If in season, spend time watching the Great Migration herds and, potentially, a river crossing at the Mara River. Overnight in the Maasai Mara.

Depart the Maasai Mara and cross the border into Tanzania, arriving at Serengeti National Park. In the afternoon, head out on your first game drive across the park's vast, open plains, one of Africa's greatest wildlife sanctuaries. Watch for lion, leopard, and cheetah, alongside large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle. Overnight in the Serengeti.

Spend a full day on game drives across the Serengeti, with morning and afternoon sessions and a lunch break in between. Explore different regions of the park in search of the Big Five and the resident predators the Serengeti is famous for, alongside its vast herds of plains game. If in season, this is prime territory for witnessing the Great Migration. Overnight in the Serengeti.

Depart the Serengeti and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying a game drive en route as you cross through the transition zone between the two ecosystems. Watch for wildlife along the way, including giraffe, zebra, and various plains game, before arriving at your lodge on the crater rim in the late afternoon. Overnight at Ngorongoro.

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game viewing within this UNESCO World Heritage Site, a self-contained ecosystem holding one of Africa's densest concentrations of wildlife. Look out for the Big Five, including the crater's famous black rhino population, alongside large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and buffalo, and predators such as lion and hyena. Return to your lodge on the crater rim in the late afternoon. Overnight at Ngorongoro.

After breakfast, transfer to Arusha for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, transfer to your beach hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing by the Indian Ocean, with time to swim, unwind, or explore the surrounding area at your own pace. Overnight in Zanzibar.

A full day at leisure in Zanzibar. Spend the day relaxing on the beach, swimming in the Indian Ocean, or exploring at your own pace — options include a Stone Town tour, spice farm visit, or snorkelling trip, available at an extra cost. Overnight in Zanzibar.
