Elevation: 1,860m to 2,700m Hiking Time: 3-4 hours Distance: Approximately 8 km Habitat: Rainforest After completing registration at Marangu Gate, you will begin your trek through the dense equatorial rainforest. The trail is lush and scenic, offering a great chance to spot blue monkeys and diverse bird species before arriving at Mandara Hut for your first overnight stay on the mountain.

Elevation: 2,700m to 3,720m Hiking Time: 5-6 hours Distance: Approximately 12 km Habitat: Moorland The trail leaves the glades of the rainforest and ascends onto the open moorland, where small shrubs dominate. As you climb, you will be treated to magnificent views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks before reaching Horombo Hut for your overnight stay.

Elevation: 3,720m to 4,200m and back to 3,720m Hiking Time: 4-5 hours Distance: Approximately 5 km Habitat: Alpine Desert This is an extra day dedicated to acclimatization. You will take a day hike toward the Mawenzi Ridge, passing the Zebra Rocks. This hike helps your body adjust to the high altitude before returning to Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight rest.

Elevation: 3,720m to 4,720m Hiking Time: 5-7 hours Distance: Approximately 10 km Habitat: Alpine Desert The trail continues to ascend, crossing the spooky saddle—a broad desert that connects Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Vegetation vanishes as you enter the high alpine desert landscape. You will arrive at Kibo Hut in the afternoon to rest, eat an early dinner, and prepare for the midnight summit attempt.

Elevation: 4,720m to 5,895m (Uhuru Peak) and down to 3,720m Hiking Time: 10-15 hours total Distance: Approximately 6 km ascent and 15 km descent Habitat: Arctic / Stone scree and ice-capped summit Your summit attempt begins around midnight in the freezing dark. You will zig-zag up scree slopes to Gilman's Point on the crater rim, then proceed along the rim to Uhuru Peak—the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your victory and taking photos, you will descend back to Kibo Hut for a brief rest, then continue down to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved final night on the mountain.

Elevation: 3,720m to 1,860m Hiking Time: 5-6 hours Distance: Approximately 20 km Habitat: Rainforest After breakfast, you will continue your descent through the moorland and rainforest down to Marangu Gate. Successful climbers will receive their summit certificates here. Afterward, a vehicle from Tanzania Daily Tours & Safari will transfer you back to your hotel in Moshi for a well-earned celebration and overnight rest before beginning your wildlife safari phase.

After breakfast at your hotel in Moshi, your professional safari guide from Tanzania Daily Tours & Safari will pick you up. You will drive westward, ascending the scenic Rift Valley escarpment and passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before entering the legendary plains of Serengeti National Park. Enjoy an afternoon game drive across the endless savannah, keeping an eye out for lions, elephants, giraffes, and the great herds, followed by dinner and overnight at your lodge or tented camp inside the park.

Begin your morning with an early game drive in Serengeti National Park, catching predators and wildlife active in the cool morning hours. After lunch, you will journey towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying views along the way before arriving at the rim of the crater in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, you will descend steeply into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for an unforgettable game drive. The enclosed caldera is teeming with wildlife, offering a great chance to spot the rare black rhino, elephants, lions, and flamingos gathered around the soda lake. Following a picnic lunch inside the crater, you will ascend the crater walls and drive back to Moshi, concluding your magnificent 9-day Kilimanjaro and wildlife safari adventure.
