Tanzania Safari Experts – ROM & DACE SAFARIS is a family-run Tanzanian tour operator specialising in private safaris. The company is founded and led by Roman Shirima and Dace Zandfelde, bringing together two complementary perspectives on Tanzania. Roman, a native Tanzanian and professional safari driver-guide with more than 30 years of first-hand experience, brings deep knowledge of Tanzania, its wildlife, national parks and the realities of safari travel on the ground. His experience helps shape realistic itineraries and informed decisions throughout the journey. Dace, from Northern Europe, brings a structured and detail-oriented approach to safari planning and communication. She understands what international travellers value: clear information, reliability, thoughtful organisation and a journey that runs as planned. Together, Roman and Dace combine deep local Tanzanian knowledge with a Northern European approach to planning and service. This combination is at the heart of how we organise every safari. Every journey is personally planned and managed from start to finish. We work with trusted local safari driver-guides and provide a private Toyota Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof, allowing each safari to adapt to conditions on the ground and to the travellers’ interests. A well-planned safari is about more than choosing destinations. It is about knowing who is behind the journey, having the experience to make the right decisions, and having a team that takes responsibility for how the safari runs. You are not simply booking a safari — you are choosing the people behind it.
