Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or be picked up from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi by your professional guide. Board your comfortable 4x4 safari vehicle and enjoy a scenic drive heading west towards the Rift Valley escarpment and the shores of Lake Eyasi. Along the way, enjoy views of the changing landscapes and local Tanzanian village life. Arrive at your lodge near Lake Eyasi in the late afternoon just in time to relax, watch a beautiful sunset over the lake, and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
Rise early before dawn to join the ancient Hadzabe hunter-gatherers on a traditional morning hunting and foraging excursion in the bush. Learn their unique click-language, witness their tracking skills, and try your hand at archery. Afterward, visit a nearby Datoga village to see traditional metal smiths crafting spears, arrowheads, and jewelry using recycled brass and copper. Return to your lodge in the afternoon to relax by the pool or enjoy the serene environment, followed by dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart Lake Eyasi and drive up the scenic Rift Valley escarpment into the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, visit an authentic Maasai boma to experience their rich pastoralist traditions, vibrant traditional dances, beadwork, and learn about their unique way of life living alongside wildlife. In the afternoon, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable afternoon game drive across the lush caldera floor teeming with elephants, lions, zebras, and rhinos. Proceed to your lodge on or near the crater rim for dinner and an overnight stay.
Spend a full day fully immersed in the vibrant pastoralist lifestyle of the Maasai people in the Ngorongoro highlands. Participate in daily cultural activities such as learning how to herd cattle, building traditional mud houses (bomas), crafting intricate beadwork alongside Maasai women, and listening to traditional storytelling and mesmerizing jumping dances (adumu).
